Here's a photo taken yesterday morning just before 8AM. Mom (or Dad) flew in and quickly (a few minutes at most) fed "baby" then flew off, circling and landing on the branch to the right of the photo above, just out of reach of the young one. Stayed in that position for a few minutes, then flew off, circled around and landed on a branch in the near vicinity of the nest and stayed there for the next few hours. From what I can gather, these Red Footed Boobies start flying in about 95+ days, so it's probably another 3 weeks before this one will take flight.

Thomas, this is an amazing photo. I like how the spread of the adult's wings helps frame the photo. Way to capture a moment.
Hey Kim! Thanks for taking the time to comment, but I need to clarify that it's actually the baby that has it's wings spread open! I was shooting at a slowish 1/250th of second shutter speed, so it's wings are blurred, but it does show motion, so maybe that was a good shutter speed selection! The baby was actually quite animated, moving it's wings and moments after this shot, it was laying on it's nest with it's wings somewhat spread out. Should be an interesting upcoming 2-3 weeks. Laters, Thomas
